When creating a new product, can I scan the nutrition facts table right away?

Yes, it’s easy to do with the Fddb nutrition scan.

So you don’t have to laboriously type in the information from a product package when adding a new product to the database, you can quickly and easily enter the nutrition facts table using AI.

Here’s how it works:

1. Open the Fddb app.
2. Tap the blue plus icon in the bottom menu bar.
3. Select “Food” (iOS) or “Meal” (Android).
4. Tap the plus icon in the top-right corner.
5. Select the option “Purchased with barcode” or “Purchased without a barcode”.
6. If necessary, scan the product’s barcode.
7. Enter the product name and, if applicable, a flavor or additional description.
8. Tap “Continue”.
9. Enter the producer's name.
10. Tap the light blue “Scan Nutritional Facts” button.
11. Take a photo of the nutrition facts panel on the packaging.
12. After the AI analysis, the recognized values will be automatically entered into the corresponding nutrition fields.
13. Check: If any values were not recognized correctly, you can tap “Scan again” or correct the fields manually.
14. Save the information by tapping the “Continue” button at the end.
