In the Fddb app for Android devices, you can use the “Detect Portions” function in the settings to define whether the quantity of a diary entry (g or ml) should be converted into readable portions or not. This function is activated by default.
An example:
- You enter 260 g of the product “Apple, fresh” in your diary.
- “Detect Portions” is activated in your app settings.
- The Fddb app converts this entry from “Apple, fresh 260 g” to “2x medium-sized Apple, fresh".
- Explanation: For the product “Apple, fresh” a medium-sized apple weighing 130 g is stored as a fixed portion size.
- The app recognizes that your 260 g of apple corresponds to 2 medium-sized apples and displays this accordingly in the diary.
You can activate/deactivate this setting in your account at any time.
Here's how:
- Tap on “My Account” at the far right of the bottom app menu.
- Tap on the settings wheel at the top right.
- Scroll to the “Diary” section and the “Detect Portions” function.
- Here you can activate or deactivate the slider.
This function is only available in the Fddb Android app, but not in the iOS app.
