From version 6.3.4 of the Fddb Android app, it is possible to synchronise health and fitness data between Fddb and Google Health Connect. This function is particularly relevant as the connection with Google Fit will soon no longer be possible. Health Connect is a Google platform that can be linked to various health and fitness apps and enables data to be stored centrally. When linking Fddb with Health Connect, you can both import ("read") data from Health Connect to Fddb and export ("write") data from Fddb to Health Connect. A Premium membership is required to use this connection.
However, there may currently be some inconsistencies in data exchange. For example, Google Health Connect does not yet take all nutrients into account when exporting from Fddb. In addition, when connecting to third-party apps, such as the Zepp app (Amazfit), not all data is transferred to Google Health Connect, meaning that this data is ultimately not visible in the Fddb app.
We would like to point out these known vulnerabilities at this point to enable you to make an informed decision before signing up for a Premium membership. Unfortunately, there is nothing Fddb can do about these circumstances. |
Currently affected data during synchronisation:
1. Data read from Google Health Connect (import to Fddb):
We know from the beta test phase that the Zepp app (Amazfit) does not transmit all data to Health Connect. Therefore, not all values are visible in Fddb that are displayed in the Zepp app.
2. Data written from Fddb to Google Health Connect (export to Google Health Connect):
Not all nutrients are fully transferred. Specifically, this concerns:
- Protein: not displayed in Health Connect, although Fddb exports the value to Health Connect.
- Fluoride, potassium, sulphur: These nutrients are not supported in Health Connect and are therefore not transferred.
- Salt: Does not exist in Health Connect. Instead, the value is converted to sodium and transferred.
One entry for nutrients is written to Health Connect per day. The data is transferred to Health Connect in real time and totaled per nutrient and synchronized as a single entry. As Health Connect does not allow future entries, pre-planned meals and their nutritional values are only transferred in Fddb on the day in question.
