You can import your data stored in Google Health Connect into the Fddb app at any time. However, this only works with Android devices.
1. download the Health Connect app.
On some newer Android devices and Android 14 and above, the Google Health Connect app may already be pre-installed, while on older devices you will need to download it from the Google Play Store.
2. connect Fddb and Health Connect.
Open the Fddb app, go to ‘Account’ in the bottom right menu and then to ‘Tracker & Apps’. Tap on ‘Connect’ in the ‘Google Health Connect’ section.
Make sure that you grant all permissions so that the data transfer between Fddb and Health Connect works.
You decide yourself in the permissions which data Fddb is allowed to read and write to Health Connect. You can either enable all data or decide individually for which data you want to grant read and write access:
- Read access is granted for total calories burnt, sport, steps, distance, body weight and body fat.
- Write access is granted for nutrition, total calories burnt, body weight and body fat.
3. check the connections between Fddb and Health Connect.
If the connection has been successfully created, you will see a link icon in the top right-hand corner of the ‘Google Health Connect’ section.
Data from other sources (third-party providers), such as Amazfit, MiFit, Polar, VeryfitPro and Strava, can also be made available via the connection to Google Health Connect in the Fddb app.
Please note:
- Synchronisation with Health Connect only works if a screen lock (pin, pattern or fingerprint) is activated on your device.
- At least Android 9 (API 28) must be installed on your Android device.
- The data imported from Google Health Connect is only stored locally on your device. It is not stored in a cloud. It cannot be synchronised to other devices either. If the device is uninstalled or defective, the data cannot be restored.
- Health Connect is not available for the Fddb Extender Pro version (one-time purchase).
- Health Connect cannot be installed on Huawei devices as the app is not available in the Huawei App Gallery. Please always download both apps (Health Connect and Fddb) from the Google Play Store to successfully connect.
- If you connect Fddb to more than one app, calories burnt may be calculated twice. Check the connections to other trackers and apps to make sure that activities, body weight and other data are not imported more than once.
