Yes, Fddb offers lock screen widgets and home screen widgets. Widgets are small, interactive elements on your smartphone screen. With Fddb widgets, you can view various summary information from the Fddb app at a glance, without opening the app, such as your current status on your daily calorie intake.
Please note: Some widgets are fully viewable only with a Premium membership.
Widgets for iOS devices
For iPhones, we offer both home screen widgets (from iOS 14) and lock screen widgets (from iOS 16). For iPads, there are no widgets available yet.
You can add the following four home screen widgets:
- Consumed (eaten, left, goal).
- Water (drank, still open, goal)
- Macros (Fat, Carbs, Sugar, Protein) (fully viewable only with a Premium membership)
- Consumed & Macros (fully viewable only with a Premium membership)
The following six lock screen widgets are available to you:
- Calories overview
- Water tracker
- Macronutrients (fully viewable only with a Premium membership)
- Carbohydrates (fully viewable only with a Premium membership)
- Protein (fully viewable only with a Premium membership)
- Fat (fully viewable only with a Premium membership)
To add a home screen widget, do the following:
1. On the home screen, press and hold an empty area until the apps start wiggling.
2. Tap the plus in the top left corner.
3. Search for "Fddb" in "Widgets".
4. Select one or more of the Fddb widgets, and then tap "Add Widget".
5. Tap "Done" in the upper right corner.
To add a Fddb lock screen widget:
1. Place a finger on the lock screen of your device until the "Customise" button appears.
2. Tap on "Customise".
3. Select "Lock Screen".
4. Tap on "Add widgets" in the upper area.
5. Select "Fddb" from the list that appears.
6. Decide on one or up to four different widgets.
7. Tap the X to close both views.
8. Lastly, tap "Done" and once again on the screen.
Widgets for Android devices
For Android devices, we currently offer two home screen widgets. Lock screen widgets are not yet available.
You can add the following two home screen widgets:
- Shortcuts
- Your current day with info about:
• Calorie goal
• Calories eaten
• Calories burned through exercise
• Remaining calories
• Barcode scanner
• Fat, carbohydrates, protein, water
• Direct access to diary
• Direct access to weight entry
To add a home screen widget on your device, you need to do the following:
1. On a home screen, press and hold an empty area until "Widgets" appears at the bottom.
2. Tap the "Widgets" button.
3. Then swipe the widgets displayed at the bottom to the left until "Fddb" appears.
4. Select one or both of the Fddb widgets and tap them.
5. Tap the screen again to save.
